Nollywood Actress,Kate Henshaw has taken up a challenge to fight against malaria.
Henshaw made a commitment on Thursday,October 6,2016 at an event organised in lagos to tender solutions in fighting the terminal disease.

Henshaw said:"In those days, people spoke about malaria as if it belonged to them with expressions like 'i have malaria', 'my malaria' and 'ordinary malaria'. Surprisingly, after many years, these terms are still common place among family members, colleagues, education.
Henshaw voiced her support for National Malaria EliminationProgramme and Society for Family Health in their battle against malaria with a 2020 target date for eliminating up to 80% of current cases. Henshaw went further and pointed out the behaviour changes and plead on the media to take up the challenge in creating a programme based on malaria to promote malaria prevention, diagnosis and treatment for malaria-free Nigeria by 2020.

She said: "I have commited myself to support the fight against malaria in Nigeria by letting people know the benefits of sleeping inside the Long Lasting Insecticides Nets, especially for children under 5 and pregnant women. It is also very important to have a Rapid Diagnosis Test carried out or microscopy done to be sure it is malaria before administering treatment with Artemisinhin-based Combination Therapy - (ACT)"
She also implore all media outlets to let citizens know the deadliness of malaria, the prevention and treatment  and also to let them know  that testing RDT to confirm malaria treatment is the best way and the best medicine for treating malaria is Artemisinin-based Combination Therapy (ACTs).it is easy to get and affordable.
